Stagey--those windstorms, Oh So Symbolic--and very melodramatic, and Amy Adams seemed too sweet and innocent to be true. But Meryl Streep and Phillip Seymour Hoffman are heaven to watch, and the complexity of Streep's character, the strength of her ambition to do good and the moral pitfalls that her ambition to be good presents I found satisfying. A drama about morality is very unusual.
